Trust and safety

Two people who have never met agree a price and a deadline, and one of them pays first. That only works if the process protects both of them. This page sets out exactly what happens to your money, your files and your account — not as reassurance, but so you can check it against what you see on your own orders.

How your money is protected

Your payment is held, not forwarded

When you place an order the money sits with Skillance. The seller sees that the order is funded and starts work, but nothing reaches them until you accept the delivery. If the order is cancelled, the funds go back to you.

You get a window to review the work

After a delivery you have 3 days to accept it or ask for a revision. If you say nothing, the order closes automatically at the end of that window — so a seller is never left waiting indefinitely, and you are never charged for something you did not have a chance to look at.

Earnings clear before they can be withdrawn

A seller's earnings sit in a pending balance for 7 days after the order completes. That window exists so a dispute raised late still has money behind it to resolve.

Disputes are decided on the record

Opening a dispute freezes the order: nothing completes on its own and no money moves. We read the whole order — the brief, the messages, the delivered files, the payment and the timestamps — and write the decision and its reasoning onto the order, where both sides can see it.

Paying safely

Orders are settled by stablecoin transfer or bank wire. We never ask for card details, and we will never message you a different wallet address or IBAN than the one shown on your order page. If anyone — including someone claiming to be our support team — asks you to pay somewhere else, that is a fraud attempt. Report it and we will act on it the same day.

  • Always send the exact amount and include the payment reference printed on the order.
  • Use the coin and the network shown on the order. A transfer sent on a different network cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
  • Keep the conversation on the platform. A deal moved to email or a messaging app has no escrow, no delivery record and nothing for us to review if it goes wrong.

Your account

Credentials

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and are never readable, by us or by anyone with database access. Sign-in sessions are stored as one-way digests of the session token, so a copy of our database does not let anyone sign in as you.

Abuse prevention

Sign-in, registration, password reset, messaging and uploads are rate limited. Uploaded files are checked against an allowlist of types and sizes before they are stored, and file names are never trusted.

Reviews that come from real orders

A review can only be written by the buyer of a completed order, one per order. There is no way to submit a review without having paid for and received the work, which is why the ratings on this site move slowly.

Reporting

Every gig, profile and message carries a Report link. Reports involving payment fraud or personal safety are looked at the same day; the rest within one business day.

What we do not do

We do not sell placement in search results, we do not sell anybody's data, and we do not take a fee from an order that was cancelled or refunded. We do not arbitrate matters of taste either: if a delivery matches what was described and agreed, it stands, and a disagreement about preference is not grounds for a refund.

The detail behind all of this is in the terms of use, the refund policy, the privacy policy and the community guidelines. If something on this page does not match what you are seeing on an order, tell us at support@skillance.tech.
